This was part of a home renovation project that we got to be part of. We installed new flooring in the kitchen and the landing on the stairs to start off. After that we repainted the entire staircase because it was in seriously rough condition. Then after new cabinets, appliances, doors, light fixtures, and a few other finishing touches this home was quite the contrast to the original state. Unfortunately I don't have any before pictures so you'll just have to take my word for it when I tell you it was horrific.
